Henry the Young King
Henry the Young King (1155-1183) was the son of King Henry II of England and Eleanor of Aquitaine. He was crowned king in his own right while still a teenager but never actually ruled, as his father retained control. His title was more symbolic, designed to prepare him for kingship. Henry struggled with living up to expectations and often rebelled against his father, seeking more power and lands. He died young, at just 28, leaving behind a legacy of unfulfilled promise and complex family dynamics in the tumultuous Plantagenet dynasty.
