Hazara people
The Hazara people are an ethnic group primarily from Afghanistan, known for their unique culture, language, and history. They primarily speak Hazaragi, a dialect of Dari, and are predominantly Shia Muslims, distinct from the mainly Sunni Muslim population in Afghanistan. The Hazaras are recognized for their distinctive physical features, often characterized by East Asian ancestry. Historically, they have faced significant discrimination and violence, particularly during the Taliban regime. Despite challenges, they maintain a rich heritage, including traditional music, poetry, and art, and have been actively involved in Afghanistan's social and political landscape.
