Gurukula system

The Gurukula system is an ancient Indian educational tradition where students, known as disciples or "shishyas," lived and learned directly with their teacher, or "guru," in a communal setting, often the guru's home. This approach emphasized holistic education, including academic subjects, moral values, and practical skills. Knowledge was imparted through direct interaction, discussions, and experiential learning. The relationship between guru and shishya was integral, fostering respect, discipline, and personal growth.
