Gougerot–Sjogren syndrome

Gougerot–Sjogren syndrome, commonly known as Sjögren's syndrome, is an autoimmune disorder where the body's immune system mistakenly attacks its own moisture-producing glands. This leads to persistent dryness, especially in the eyes and mouth. People with this condition may also experience fatigue and joint pain. It often occurs alongside other autoimmune diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis or lupus. While there's no cure, treatments focus on managing symptoms, such as using artificial tears for dry eyes and saliva substitutes for dry mouth, along with other medications to alleviate discomfort and inflammation.
