Schirmer's test
Schirmer's test is a simple procedure used to measure tear production to assess tear gland function. A small strip of special paper is placed inside the lower eyelid, and after a few minutes, the length of the wetted area indicates how much tears are being produced. This helps diagnose dry eye syndrome or other tear production issues. The test is quick, minimally invasive, and provides essential information about eye moisture levels, aiding in targeted treatment decisions.
