gingivitis

Gingivitis is a common and mild form of gum disease characterized by inflammation of the gums. It often occurs due to the buildup of plaque—a sticky film of bacteria on the teeth—when oral hygiene is neglected. Symptoms include red, swollen gums that may bleed during brushing or flossing. While gingivitis can be uncomfortable, it is usually reversible with good dental care practices, such as regular brushing, flossing, and dental check-ups. If left untreated, it can progress to more severe forms of gum disease, which can lead to tooth loss and other health issues.
