George II's reign
George II reigned as King of Great Britain and Ireland from 1727 to 1760, following his father, George I. His reign was marked by military conflicts, notably the War of the Austrian Succession and the Seven Years' War, which expanded British influence overseas. George II was also the last British monarch to lead troops into battle, demonstrating his interest in military affairs. Domestically, his reign saw growing political power for Parliament, particularly under leaders like Robert Walpole. Although he faced challenges, including the Jacobite uprisings, George II's era contributed to the development of the modern British state.
