Gene-Environment Interaction
Gene-environment interaction refers to the way our genes and our environment work together to influence our traits and behaviors. Essentially, our genetic makeup can determine how we respond to environmental factors, and vice versa. For example, a person may have a genetic predisposition for a particular health condition, but whether or not they develop it can depend on lifestyle choices, such as diet and exercise, and other environmental influences. This interaction highlights that both nature (genes) and nurture (environment) play crucial roles in shaping who we are.
