Free French Forces

The Free French Forces were the military units formed by supporters of Charles de Gaulle during World War II after France fell to Nazi Germany in 1940. These forces consisted of French soldiers, sailors, and airmen who refused to accept the armistice with Germany. Operating mainly from abroad, especially in England and later in liberated territories, they fought alongside the Allies to liberate France.
