Epicurus
Epicurus, an ancient Greek philosopher, is known for his ideas on happiness and the nature of the divine, particularly in relation to the Problem of Evil. He posited that if an all-powerful, all-knowing, and all-good God exists, evil should not exist. The contradiction arises when we see suffering and injustice in the world. Epicurus suggested that if God can prevent suffering but does not, He might not be all-good; if He wants to prevent it but cannot, He might not be all-powerful. This dilemma challenges traditional views of God and raises questions about the nature of suffering and divinity.
