East African Campaign

The East African Campaign (1940-1941) was a series of battles during World War II in East Africa, primarily involving British and Commonwealth forces against Italian troops in British Somaliland, Kenya, and Ethiopia. It aimed to remove Italian control in the region, which had expanded in the 1930s. The campaign included significant battles, such as at Keren and the liberation of Ethiopia, and concluded with Italian surrender. The Allied victory not only weakened Axis influence in Africa but also boosted morale for the Allies during a challenging phase of the war.
