Operation Crusader
Operation Crusader was a military campaign during World War II, conducted between November 18 and December 30, 1941, in North Africa. The British Eighth Army aimed to break the Axis forces, primarily the German and Italian troops, in Libya. It was marked by extensive tank battles and desert warfare. The operation sought to relieve pressure on the besieged city of Tobruk and re-establish control over eastern Libya. Although it initially faced setbacks, the Eighth Army eventually succeeded in pushing Axis forces back, although it did not achieve a decisive victory. This operation highlighted the challenges of desert warfare and logistics.
