Operation Lightfoot

Operation Lightfoot was a military operation during World War II, part of the Second Battle of El Alamein in 1942. Led by British forces, it aimed to break the defenses of the Axis powers (primarily German and Italian troops) in Egypt. The operation involved a surprise nighttime attack and the use of deception to mislead enemy forces about the main British assault area. This strategy successfully allowed Allied troops to breach the front lines, ultimately leading to a significant victory and marking a turning point in the North African campaign against Axis forces.
