Decimal system
The decimal system is a way of representing numbers using ten different digits: 0 through 9. Each position in a number indicates a power of 10, with the rightmost digit representing units, the next tens, then hundreds, and so on. This place value system allows us to easily read, write, and perform calculations with large or small numbers by shifting digits according to their position. The decimal system is widely used because it aligns with our counting method, based on ten fingers, and provides a straightforward way to organize numerical information efficiently.
