Numeration Systems

Numeration systems are methods for representing numbers using symbols. The most common system is the decimal system, based on ten digits (0-9). Other systems include binary (used in computers, with only two digits: 0 and 1), hexadecimal (used in computing to simplify binary representation, using sixteen symbols: 0-9 and A-F), and Roman numerals (an ancient system using letters like I, V, X). Each system has its own rules for combining symbols to express values, and understanding these systems helps in fields such as mathematics, computer science, and history.
