Croatian Glagolitic
Croatian Glagolitic is an ancient script developed in the 9th century for writing the Slavic languages, particularly in Croatia. It is notable for its unique, ornate characters, which were derived from the Greek alphabet but adapted to represent Slavic sounds. Glagolitic was used primarily by the clergy for religious texts and liturgy, reflecting the influence of Christianity in the region. Although it gradually fell out of use in favor of the Latin alphabet, Glagolitic remains an important cultural symbol in Croatia, celebrated for its historical significance and artistic beauty.
