Coherence Theory

Coherence Theory is a concept in philosophy that defines truth based on the consistency and interconnectedness of beliefs or statements. Instead of viewing truth as a direct correspondence to facts (like a mirror reflecting reality), Coherence Theory suggests that a statement is considered true if it fits well within a system of beliefs, where all beliefs support and validate each other. Essentially, if a belief harmonizes with a broader web of accepted ideas and remains logically consistent, it can be regarded as true, even if it can’t be directly observed or proven through empirical evidence.
