Coherentist Epistemology

Coherentist epistemology is a theory about how we can justify our beliefs. It suggests that beliefs are justified not by matching an external standard or foundation, but by how well they fit together within an entire system of interconnected beliefs. In this view, a belief is justified if it coheres with other beliefs, creating a consistent and harmonious whole. Justification is about internal consistency, so the more beliefs support each other without contradictions, the more justified they are. This approach emphasizes the holistic nature of knowledge, where truth emerges from the overall coherence of our belief network.
