Cognitive Triad

The Cognitive Triad is a concept in psychology, particularly in understanding depression. It describes how three components—negative thoughts about oneself, the world, and the future—interact and reinforce each other. For example, if someone thinks they are worthless (self), believes the world is a negative place (world), and feels that things will never improve (future), these thoughts can create a cycle that deepens their feelings of sadness and hopelessness. Addressing these negative perceptions through cognitive therapy can help individuals break this cycle and develop a more balanced view of themselves and their lives.
