Christian Reconquista
The Christian Reconquista refers to a historical period in the Iberian Peninsula, spanning from the 8th to the late 15th century, during which Christian kingdoms reclaimed territory from Muslim rule. Beginning after the Muslim conquest in the early 700s, this series of military campaigns aimed to restore Christian control over Spain and Portugal. The Reconquista culminated in 1492 with the fall of Granada, the last Muslim stronghold. This significant event not only shaped the cultural and religious landscape of the region but also coincided with Spain's emergence as a global power, notably through exploration and colonization.
