Chariot (military)
A chariot is a fast, two-wheeled vehicle typically drawn by horses, used in ancient warfare and racing. Its design allowed a small number of soldiers, often an archer or a spearman, to be transported swiftly across battlefields. Chariots provided mobility, enabling quick attacks and retreats while offering a vantage point for combatants. They were notably used by civilizations like the Egyptians, Hittites, and Romans, becoming a significant element in military tactics until infantry and cavalry advances rendered them less effective. Chariots symbolize both technological innovation in warfare and the importance of speed in military strategies.
