Character Strengths and Virtues (CSV)
Character Strengths and Virtues (CSV) is a framework developed by psychologists Martin Seligman and Christopher Peterson, intended to identify and categorize essential positive traits that contribute to human flourishing. It highlights 24 strengths, such as courage, kindness, and wisdom, grouped under six broad virtues: wisdom, courage, humanity, justice, temperance, and transcendence. This model serves as a guide for individuals and organizations to foster personal growth, enhance well-being, and improve relationships by recognizing and cultivating these strengths in everyday life. It emphasizes a balanced approach to mental health, focusing on positive qualities rather than merely addressing weaknesses.
