Caratacus
Caratacus was a British chieftain who led resistance against the Roman invasion of Britain during the first century AD, particularly around 43-50 AD. He is best known for his leadership of the Catuvellauni tribe. After being defeated by the Romans, Caratacus fled to what is now Wales and continued to fight against Roman expansion. Eventually, he was captured and brought before the Roman Emperor Claudius. Instead of punishment, Caratacus won respect for his bravery and eloquence, which led to his release and a life in exile. He symbolizes the struggle for independence and heroism in ancient British history.
