Bihu

Bihu is a major Assamese festival celebrated in the Indian state of Assam, marking the agricultural cycle. There are three main types: Rongali (or Bohag) Bihu, celebrated in April to welcome the new harvest; Kongali Bihu, observed in October, focusing on the preservation of crops; and Bhogali Bihu, held in January, celebrating the harvest with feasting. Each Bihu features traditional music, dance, and rituals, reflecting the rich culture of Assam. It fosters community spirit, connecting people through shared customs and celebrations related to farming and the changing seasons.
