Battle of Pharsalus

The Battle of Pharsalus took place on August 9, 48 BC, during the Roman Civil War between Julius Caesar and Pompey the Great. Caesar, though outnumbered, used strategic tactics to defeat Pompey’s larger forces in Thessaly, Greece. The battle was decisive, leading to Pompey's eventual flight to Egypt, where he was later murdered. Caesar’s victory solidified his power and marked a turning point in Roman history, paving the way for him to become the dictator of Rome, ultimately leading to the end of the Roman Republic and the rise of the Roman Empire.
