Battle of Khanwa
The Battle of Khanwa, fought on March 16, 1527, near Agra, India, was a crucial conflict between the Mughal emperor Babur and the Rajput king Rana Sanga. After Babur successfully defeated Ibrahim Lodi in the First Battle of Panipat, Rana Sanga sought to challenge Babur's authority. Babur's forces, numbering around 20,000, faced a much larger Rajput army. Despite this disadvantage, Babur's strategic use of cavalry and artillery led to a decisive victory, solidifying Mughal rule in India and marking the decline of Rajput power. This battle was significant for establishing the Mughal Empire’s dominance in the region.
