Bankart lesion

A Bankart lesion is a type of injury that affects the shoulder joint. It occurs when the labrum, a cartilage ring that helps stabilize the shoulder socket, is torn. This often happens after a shoulder dislocation, when the upper arm bone pops out of its socket. The injury can lead to recurrent dislocations and instability of the shoulder, making it difficult to perform certain activities. Treatment may include physical therapy or surgery to repair the torn labrum and restore normal function to the shoulder.
