
Bacha Khan (Ghaffar Khan)
Bacha Khan, also known as Ghaffar Khan, was an influential Indian independence activist and a prominent leader in the Indian freedom movement. Born in 1890 in present-day Pakistan, he advocated for nonviolent resistance against British rule. Bacha Khan was a close associate of Mahatma Gandhi and founded the Khilafat Movement and the Khilafat-e-Azam (or the "King of the Khilafat"), promoting education and social reform among the Pashtun people. He emphasized unity and peaceful coexistence, earning him the title "Frontier Gandhi." His legacy is celebrated for championing civil rights, education, and nonviolence in a time of significant political turmoil.
