Babylonian Astrology

Babylonian astrology, practiced in ancient Mesopotamia, was one of the earliest forms of astrology, dating back to around the 2nd millennium BCE. It involved observing the movements of celestial bodies—such as the planets, the sun, and the moon—and interpreting their influence on human affairs and natural events. Babylonian astrologers developed a sophisticated system of omens based on these observations, often linking specific celestial events to predictions about kings, agriculture, and personal destinies. This practice laid the groundwork for later astrological traditions in Hellenistic cultures and continues to influence modern astrology.
