Arminius

Arminius, also known as Hermann, was a chieftain of the Cherusci tribe in ancient Germany who lived around 0-21 AD. He is best known for leading a coalition of Germanic tribes to a significant victory against Roman legions in the Battle of the Teutoburg Forest in 9 AD. This defeat halted Roman expansion into Germania and is considered a pivotal moment in history, shaping the relationship between Rome and the Germanic tribes.
