Apuleius

Apuleius was a Roman philosopher, orator, and writer who lived in the 2nd century AD. He is best known for his novel "The Golden Ass," which is the only Roman novel to survive in its entirety. The story follows a man who is transformed into a donkey and his adventures while seeking to regain his human form. Apuleius's work explores themes of transformation, love, and the search for wisdom. Additionally, he wrote philosophical treatises that incorporated elements of Platonic thought, emphasizing the pursuit of wisdom and understanding of the soul in relation to the divine.
