Anglo-Russian relations
Anglo-Russian relations refer to the diplomatic, economic, and political interactions between the United Kingdom and Russia. Historically, these relations have been marked by periods of rivalry and cooperation. In the 19th century, they often clashed over imperial ambitions in Asia. However, during World War I and World War II, they allied against common enemies. The Cold War saw a significant deterioration, with ideological and military tensions. In recent years, issues such as conflicts in Ukraine and Syria have strained relations again, while economic ties in trade and energy continue to develop amidst these geopolitical challenges.
