Anglo-Russian Treaty (1907)
The Anglo-Russian Treaty of 1907 was an agreement between Britain and Russia to resolve their competing interests in Central and South Asia. It established a clear boundary in Persia (Iran), dividing influence so neither country would interfere in each other's zones. Additionally, it recognized Afghanistan as a neutral buffer state between them. The treaty aimed to reduce tensions and avoid conflict by clarifying their respective spheres of influence, facilitating cooperation and maintaining stability in the region during a period of imperial expansion.
