Afferent Nerve Fibers
Afferent nerve fibers are specialized pathways in the nervous system that carry sensory information from various parts of the body to the brain. When you touch something, feel pain, or experience temperature changes, afferent fibers transmit these signals, allowing your brain to interpret and respond to your environment. Essentially, they serve as messengers that relay important data about what’s happening externally or internally, enabling us to perceive sensations and maintain awareness of our surroundings.
