Active Recall

Active Recall is a learning technique that involves actively stimulating your memory during the study process. Instead of passively reading or reviewing information, you test yourself on what you've learned, asking questions and trying to recall answers from memory. This process strengthens your understanding and retention of the material. For instance, after reading a topic, you might close the book and summarize what you remember, or use flashcards to quiz yourself. Research shows that the effort of retrieving information enhances learning more effectively than simply reviewing notes or textbooks.
