Zurvanism

Zurvanism is a branch of Zoroastrianism that emphasizes the concept of Zurvan, who represents infinite time and space. Unlike orthodox Zoroastrianism, which focuses on dualism between Ahura Mazda (the one supreme god) and Angra Mainyu (the evil spirit), Zurvanism presents Zurvan as the origin of both. It posits that good and evil arise from a single source, suggesting a more complex relationship between these forces. Founded in the late Achaemenid Empire, Zurvanism highlights the philosophical exploration of time and cosmic order within the Zoroastrian tradition.
