Mazdakism
Mazdakism was a religious and social movement that emerged in the 5th century CE within the context of Zoroastrianism in Persia. Founded by Mazdak, it advocated for communal ownership of property, social equality, and the rejection of material wealth, contrasting sharply with the hierarchical and aristocratic structure of Zoroastrian society. Mazdakism emphasized moral actions and sought to alleviate social injustices, aligning with core Zoroastrian concepts of good and evil. However, it faced resistance from the Zoroastrian elite and was ultimately suppressed, but it left a lasting impact on Persian thought and social structures.
