Youth Court

Youth Court is a specialized legal system designed to address offenses committed by minors, typically between the ages of 10 and 17. It focuses on rehabilitation rather than punishment, recognizing that young people have the potential to change. Proceedings are less formal than adult courts, with some cases being heard by judges who are specially trained in youth issues, and sometimes panels of community members. Youth Courts aim to provide a supportive environment, helping to steer adolescents away from criminal behavior through counseling, community service, and educational programs while holding them accountable for their actions.
