Youth Offending Teams
Youth Offending Teams (YOTs) are multidisciplinary groups that work with young people (typically aged 10-17) who have committed offences. Their goal is to help these young individuals understand the impact of their actions, prevent reoffending, and support their rehabilitation. YOTs often include social workers, police officers, education experts, and health professionals who collaborate to create tailored intervention plans. They provide guidance, supervision, and support through community-based programs, mentoring, and, when necessary, court proceedings. The aim is to reduce youth crime while promoting positive development and integration into society.
