VHS (Video Home System)
VHS (Video Home System) is a format for recording and playing back video content using magnetic tapes. Introduced in the late 1970s, it became popular in homes for watching movies, recording TV shows, and making home videos. VHS tapes are housed in rectangular plastic cases and are played on VCRs (Video Cassette Recorders). VHS was favored for its longer recording times compared to competing formats, leading to widespread use throughout the 1980s and 1990s. Although digital formats have largely replaced it, VHS remains a significant part of media history.
