Vanir
The Vanir are a group of deities in Norse mythology, known primarily for their association with fertility, prosperity, and the earth. They are often contrasted with the Aesir, another class of gods who are more associated with war and governance. Key figures among the Vanir include Njord, the god of the sea and fertility, and his children, Freyr and Freyja, who are linked to love and abundance. The Vanir and Aesir engaged in a significant conflict, but eventually established peace and exchanged hostages, reflecting themes of cooperation and harmony in Norse beliefs.
