Norse cosmology

Norse cosmology describes the structure of the universe according to Norse mythology. It consists of nine worlds, centered around the great tree Yggdrasil, which connects all realms. Asgard is the abode of the gods, while Midgard is the realm of humanity. Other worlds include Niflheim (the realm of ice), Muspelheim (the realm of fire), and Hel (the land of the dead). These realms are inhabited by various beings, such as gods, giants, and elves. The balance and interactions among these worlds reflect themes of creation, destruction, and the cyclical nature of existence.
