Aegir (a character in the Edda)

Aegir is a figure from Norse mythology, often depicted as a sea giant associated with the ocean's mysterious and sometimes chaotic nature. He is known for hosting banquets for the gods in his underwater castle, showcasing both hospitality and the maritime world’s bounty. Aegir is also linked to the brewing of ale, symbolizing abundance and celebration. His wife, Ran, is associated with capturing sailors who drown at sea.
