Skadi

Skadi is a figure from Norse mythology, often associated with winter, hunting, and skiing. She is a giantess and the daughter of the giant Thjazi. After her father's death, Skadi sought revenge and demanded to choose a husband from the Aesir gods, ultimately marrying Njord, the god of the sea, though their relationship was troubled by contrasting preferences for home and environment. Skadi is also known for her role in the pantheon as a protector of wildlife and a symbol of the harsh beauty of winter landscapes. Her story reflects themes of duality and nature’s power.
