Heathenry

Heathenry is a modern spiritual movement that draws on the ancient polytheistic beliefs and practices of Germanic and Nordic peoples, particularly those from pre-Christian Northern Europe. Practitioners, often called Heathens, honor a variety of gods and goddesses, such as Odin and Freyja, and celebrate the cycles of nature and ancestral traditions. Rituals may include blóts (sacrificial offerings) and sumbels (communal toasts). Heathenry is characterized by its emphasis on personal experience, connection to history, and community, often seeking to revive or reinterpret old customs in a contemporary context.
