Valkyrie (Operation)

Operation Valkyrie was a German plan during World War II that aimed to take control of the country in case of a breakdown of order due to an upheaval or the death of Adolf Hitler. The most famous use of this plan was in July 1944, when a group of German officers attempted to assassinate Hitler. They placed a bomb at his conference table, but he survived. Following the failed assassination, the conspirators were arrested and executed, and the operation was ultimately deemed a failure, leading to increased repression within Germany.
