Werner von Haeften was a German military officer and lawyer who served as a colonel in the German Army during World War II. He was involved in resistance efforts against Adolf Hitler and the Nazi regime. Haeften is best known for his role in the 20 July 1944 assassination attempt on Hitler, where he helped plan and support the conspiracy. After the plot failed, he was arrested and executed.
