Abwehr
The Abwehr was Nazi Germany’s military intelligence agency during World War II, responsible for gathering information about enemy forces and conducting covert operations. Its role included espionage, sabotage, and counterintelligence, aiming to detect threats and support military strategies. The organization worked both independently and in coordination with other Nazi agencies, often engaging in secret activities behind enemy lines. While it was effective at gathering intelligence, it also became compromised by internal conflicts and infiltrations, which eventually led to its decline and replacement by other intelligence agencies in the later stages of the war.
