United Monarchy
The United Monarchy refers to a period in ancient Hebrew history when the Israelites were unified under a single monarchy, traditionally dated from around 1050 to 930 BCE. It began with King Saul, followed by King David, who established Jerusalem as the capital, and King Solomon, known for building the First Temple. This era is significant for solidifying Israelite identity, expanding territory, and fostering cultural and religious development. The monarchy ended with Solomon's death, leading to a division into the northern Kingdom of Israel and the southern Kingdom of Judah, which shaped the region's future.
