Tyrannosaurus rex

Tyrannosaurus rex, often called T. rex, is one of the most famous carnivorous dinosaurs that lived during the late Cretaceous period, around 68 to 66 million years ago. This massive predator could reach lengths of up to 40 feet and stood about 12 feet tall at the hips. T. rex had powerful jaws filled with large teeth, suited for crushing bone, and tiny, yet strong arms. Fossils have been found primarily in North America. It is thought to have been a top predator, feeding on large herbivores, and its existence ended with the mass extinction event that wiped out the dinosaurs.
